"But the purpose of stories was to take the ugly, terrifying truths with which one must live and turn them into brave and beautiful ideas one might love..."
Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory in Crown of Vengeance.
The Bloomington Storytellers' Guild was formed in 1975 to help keep the ancient tradition of oral storytelling alive.
The Guild offers members an opportunity to learn and grow in their art and to perform for various audiences.
Members of the Guild meet about once a month to share new stories and plan storytelling events.
Open meetings welcome everyone who is interested in storytelling, either as a teller or as a listener.
The Guild also makes connections between tellers and those who want to book a storyteller.
