50th Anniversary Posters now available

The commemorative posters for the 50th Anniversary of the Festival of Ghost Stories have arrived!

You can pick up one at the October Guild meeting this Sunday, October 5th, ( 12:15, MCPL, Room 2C - see previous post for details)

Our poster was designed by Connor Stelle.  You'll be seeing more of his amazing artwork at the Festival of Ghost Stories (7:00 pm, Bryan Park, October 24)  

 

October Guild Meeting

It’s the season for spooky stories!

We know you have a favorite - maybe the tale that terrified you at camp?  Or the one that kept you from sleeping at a slumber party? A true tale that you heard at a family gathering?  Your favorite one from “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”? The tricky one that made you gasp – and laugh?

Come share your story at the October meeting of the Bloomington Storytellers Guild:

As you get ready to share a story remember:

            Keep it short (7-10 min)

            Don’t read it – tell it

            Practice telling it out loud before you come

            Let us know the source of your story

As the Leaves Turn

As the Leaves Turn,  Fall Storytelling Season begins...

Our Bloomington Storytellers Guild has traditionally had a Fall Ingathering - an open invitation to anyone interested in any aspect of storytelling to join us, to find out more about our group, and to help us think about what we might do during the coming year.

This year the meeting is:

 Bring any interested friends with you,  we'll have a few stories, lots of information, and we'll discuss upcoming auditions and meetings.

Time for our annual Fall Gathering!

Summer's almost gone...so it must be time for our annual Fall Gathering.

The Bloomington Storytellers Guild invites members, their families and friends, and anyone interested in the traditional art of storytelling to join us for a Fall Picnic on Sunday, September 22. We will gather in the Lions Den Shelter House at Upper Cascades Park on Bloomington's north side around 5:00 pm.
(note: this facility IS handicapped accessible!)

Bring a pitch-in dish to share and whatever you prefer to drink, and we'll supply plates, forks, and cups. 

We'll talk about the coming storytelling season and answer questions about the Guild and its activities.  Yes, there might be a story or two as well!

Dues are due, if you are a teller who wants to tell with us, send an email if you have questions about this.

Fall Season starts!

Time for our Fall Storytelling Season to start!

We'll begin by getting together:

This is the first meeting of our "year" - so we'll be doing some planning and organization as well as sharing information from the summer workshop and a story or two.

More than just a meeting

Our spring meeting included, as promised, stories - amusing, thought-provoking and inspiring.  And snacks - a table full of various goodies.  And more than that-- it became an enthusiastic planning session and those in attendance became:

your newly formed Guild planning committee!

While certain wanderers roamed through Lower Cascades wondering where we were, our shelter house in Upper Cascades was all set up and waiting.

Soon our table was full of good food and fine stories about stories.

And we raised a fork in honor of those of you who missed this festive event!
